I grew up in the small mountain town of Whitmore, CA. I grew to have a love for the outdoors, riding motor cycles, climbing trees, fishing and hunting. I went to Whitmore elementary and Foothill High School, before attending UC Davis where I graduated with a BA in sociology. After graduating, I moved to Sacramento to work at a local rent-to-own company as the sales manager before deciding in 2003 to move back up to Shasta County to be closer to family and old friends. Once in Redding, I became the manager of a local sandwich shop before finding an opportunity with J&A Foods which owned many different restaurants throughout the state.
Over the next 15 years, I ran different restaurants for the company as a service manager, bar manager and GM. Working in the service industry taught me about the hard work and dedication needed to run a successful business. I loved the interaction I was able to do every day with the guests that came in to dine at my restaurants. I enjoyed getting to know more about them and their lives so that I could ensure we gave them the service to meet their needs.
When looking to change careers, I looked for a company that cared about the individual person and their needs.
